In Napa Valley, at the hands of the ever-intriguing winemaker Robert Smith, The Obscene is born—a wine forged where risk, rigor, and rebellion collide. This isn’t for the faint of palate. It’s an audacious blend built to defy convention and rewrite expectations.
Meet
After earning a Baccalaureate in Enology, Robert launched his wine career with a harvest internship at Quintessa, progressed to Covert Estate alongside luxury winemaker Julien Fayard, and most recently served as head winemaker at Quixote Winery, working closely with the renowned Philippe Melka.Driven by curiosity and a refusal to play it safe, Robert ferments The Obscene in cool concrete tanks, crafting complexity before aging the wine in barrels once filled with Tennessee whiskey, a nod to both heritage and heresy.

Tasting Notes
